The battle for the title of football season 2021/2022

The football season is nearly over in all European countries and the top clubs are momentarily battling for the national title. How are the clubs doing per competition and which championship match can you visit? You’ll read the answer in our blog about the battle for the title of football season 2021/22.

La Liga

The Spanish battle at the end of La Liga's season reached boiling point, last year - with one game to go, Atlético Madrid stood at 83 and Real Madrid at 81 points; both teams won the last game - but this year's battle for the title is a little less challenging.

Real Madrid is on the first place with 75 points right now; the poorly performing FC Barcelona follows with one less played game in second place with 60 points. Things would have to go very crazy for the Royals to finish without a national title with only six games to go…

The battle for the title in France hasn’t been exhilirating for years, until the season of 2020/21. Nobody saw it coming but after having played 38 matches, it wasn’t Paris Saint-Germain that won the title, but LOSC Lille.

Lille is on the ninth place at this moment and is not a real opponent for PSG right now. The club from Paris returned to their first place in the rankings, and they have 15 points more than Olympique Marseille.
